Asbury Preschool provides a weekday morning preschool in a Christian environment staffed with highly qualified teachers. We seek to benefit the child, parents, and the community. Asbury Preschool is a nationally accredited program of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. The Preschool is licensed by the NC Division of Child Development.

Educational activities, social experiences and social interaction will be based on a Christian perspective. Our program is designed to encourage language development, discovery learning, social skills, creativity, and the beginning of an understanding that God loves each of us.

Registration for the school year begins in February for children who are not already enrolled in our program at that time. Asbury church members register prior to the general public in early February for the school year.

We offer a child-centered program with small classes, and welcome children of any race, creed or culture. Our curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate principles and activities. It includes both age-appropriate and individually-appropriate information so children can freely interact with people and materials.

Child-initiated, child-directed, teacher-supported play is an essential component of classroom practice. The protection and enhancement of a child's self-esteem are important to us. Discipline, when necessary, will include redirection and a brief explanation. If this proves ineffective, a short time-out will be used.
